Unidos South Oc

Unidos South OC is a non-profit organization, in San Juan Capistrano, on a mission to empower under-resourced neighborhoods. With a foundation in faith, data-driven practices, and resident leadership, we work tirelessly to uplift communities.

Guided by our core values of dignity, community, diversity, equity, and justice, we employ three interconnected strategies. We begin with Direct Services, fostering trust, which paves the way for Community Building, inspiring individuals. This ultimately leads to Resident-Led Initiatives for enduring, positive change.

Volunteer Opportunities at Unidos South OC

Homework Club

Provide one-on-one or group support to elementary school students as they work on their homework assignments. Offer additional educational materials and resources to reinforce learning and address any challenges students may face, while fostering a positive learning environment. We hope to offer encouragement, patience and guidance to keep our students focused.

Empower middle and high school students in their academic journey by providing targeted assistance in math and English. Your expertise and guidance help students grasp complex concepts, build confidence, and succeed in these critical subjects.

Youth Night
Join our vibrant Youth Night Ministry, tailored for middle and high school students. This dynamic evening features engaging activities and faith-based small group discussions on the topic of the night. As a Youth Night Volunteer, your role involves leading games, facilitating group discussions, and fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Your involvement helps create a positive and enriching experience for our young participants.

Events
Unidos South OC host a diverse range of community events throughout the year. As an Event Support Volunteer, you can play a pivotal role in event planning, logistics, or attendee engagement. This opportunity is short-term, sometimes requiring support just for the day of the event, providing a flexible commitment that still allows for meaningful contributions to our community.

Guidelines and Expectations

Our organization upholds a strong commitment to religious respect and volunteer professionalism. Volunteers are required to familiarize themselves with our Religious Respect Policy and Volunteer Handbook, which outline our principles and operational guidelines.
Additionally, in adherence to state mandates, volunteers must complete the mandated training provided by our organization. Prior certificates will not be accepted, and volunteers are expected to turn in their certificates upon completion of the training.
